Hey guys! Long time no see! The college semester is ending and with it is the beginning of a brand new book called Honor In War! It's an awesome samurai SciFi, so go check it out! This time regular updates ensured! Also, it's good to be back.

Hey there, I hope time has treated you well. I just read the story of 118, and 324. You seriously have a gift with creative writing. I don’t like to bash on anyone, but out of all the halo stories I’ve read none of them captivated me or felt anywhere near as authentic as yours did. I really hope we see the sequel someday.

Thank you for such a great read!!

Spartan_Steele

@Dean_073 Thank you so much for the compliment! I have to admit I put 324 on the back burner for some non-fan-fiction projects I am working on, but it's messages like these that really get me passionate about continuing those storylines.

I am honored they felt authentic and I hope you will keep an eye out for new chapters on 'Spartans Never Die'! I do plan to make a legitimate sequel to 'Spartan 118' but I need Halo to release more lore about what happened while Chief was in space to ensure I don't break the realism with plot holes in the official storyline. Thanks again for your support!

Hey are still active because I was wondering if you were to going to update your halo books again

Spartan_Steele

Oh ok, yeah, I can try to work on that next week. I’ve been considering getting a bunch of chapters finished and then releasing semi-weekly, but I need some time to actually write all of them. Thanks in advance for your patience!

@EthanNiemczura Yeah I'm still active! I just haven't had time to write with college finals this and next week. After then I can't start back up on some of them. Did you have one in mind that you wanted me to finish:

I do this with characters and weapons as well. Especially if a character has a certain preference to a type of weapon, or loadout. If you are including non-human beings, a great idea would be to sketch out the creatures and include a description of their strengths, weaknesses, intelligence level, size, special abilities or technologies, and any other tidbits like affinity for combat or armor. If you try to keep it all in your head or in the book, you are going to lose it, so it has to be separate. As a general writing tip, I sometimes put next to these notes any important plot events or foreshadowing, to remind myself to include them. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to create my own weapons or enemies because Halo has already been so well-developed, but I still had to write like my readers had never heard of them before and detail how they looked and such.

I don't know much about your book just from the title, but I'd be glad to give more tips if needed. Those are all my tips on general sci-fi that I could think of right now, I hope they helped!

Spartan_Steele

@ASpaceKatzen Why thank you first of all! I'm glad you like my stuff!

And second of all, sure, I can share some tips!
When it comes to scifi, it's often difficult to think about what hasn't been created yet. You often have to become an inventor of sorts, especially if it's based in the future. You can kind of imagine that none of our current technology is relevant anymore, and you have to creat better versions that are more easily accessible and have more features.

My other tip is usually when it comes to scifi, there are a ton of new names, places, people, and items. It's great to make a list of these describing each and labeling. For example, in Spartan 118, I created the planet Atrius. In order to keep things straight and help me remember what things were and where, I wrote a note detailing a general description of the type of planet Atrius was, where it was located in space, how many oceans it had and their names, (mine had one large continent, but the names of each one), the important major city and place names, like Alkaid City and Fort Cause, and I even created a diagram of Alkaid for reference in the book, because cities can get complicated, fast.

I hope you guys all have an amazing and Happy New Year! I'm sorry I couldn't be the author I should have been this year, but I hope to make it up to you next year. You guys keep making it amazing and I hope we will all make it a great 2019!
