Einstein's theory of general relativity suggests that space and time could, in theory, bend in a way that creates loops, allowing something to travel back to an earlier point in time. In quantum physics, this idea is called a quantum time loop, where tiny particles might, in theory, go back in time and affect the past.
          
          In quantum mechanics, these are called quantum CTCs, I.e. spacetime paths that loop back on themselves, creating "time loops".
