Getting the same symptoms I had when I got sick for two weeks straight. Once again, trying taking cough drops like candy, taking NyQuil/DayQuil, and heated up 80 proof Rum with honey, heated towel against the throat. So far, just drunk and no other improvements. At least my head feels nice even though it feels like I swallowed a ràzor bl*de that got stuck, I guess lol

Went to the clinic today while feeling like absolute death, having had a 101.5°F fever and an earache in both ears that hurt so bad it ran through my jaw, my head feeling like it was going to explode everytime I coughed, and a stuffed nose that I couldn't breathe all night that made it impossible to sleep. Tested for both flu and Covid, and tested positive for Covid. I got a note to take a few days off work until I've been fever free for 24hrs. I had to leave work early yesterday because I almost puked in the trashcan multiple times and almost passed out multiple times because I was too hot, and my entire body ached in my bones (me and my mom have all the same sympathy, except she has thrown up)

Today has felt like a punishment for existing, istg. >_>

          1. Get woken up at 4AM when I have to wake up at 6AM (because I work at 8AM and have to leave the house by 7AM) to bring the dogs in my room because my parents had to go to work (I'm poor from a poor family, no judging), but my dog starts a fight with one of my mom's and it takes twenty minutes to get things settled (he's grounded today, and I was so p*ssed it took me about an hour to fall back asleep before I woke to my alarm)

          2. I go downstairs to get my laundry, it's pitch-black and I turn on the light that only lights up the stairs and laundry room. Start getting my clothes out of the dryer until I hear a weird noise in the storage room right next to the laundry room (you need to go through the narrow archway and go in the middle of the blackened room and pull a short string -- which my 4'11" aß cannot reach -- to turn the light on) and see it's dark over there. I'm white, but not horror movie white, so I go back to my laundry like nothing happened. Hear the noise again, look over and the light in that room is on. Nope, I get my crap and leave. (I've had nightmares of being haunted in that basement when first moving there, I've seen ghosts down there as clear as day, I've heard voices when I shouldn't have heard voices when I was down there, I've seen my family Death Demon and hit it with a broom down there, I've had things thrown at me at the speed of a racing car down there, and I've been demonically growled at twice down there, so not unheard of for me)

15. As I'm trying to get things packaged and tagged, and set out, store management comes up at 3:50PM asking about Thaw & Sell which only wants 4 items that I don't even know where to find them in storage or how to tag those ones, and -- I say again -- I didn't have anyone helping me for a majority of the day nor did I clearly have the time to do it anyway.

            16. 3:55PM I have to answer the phone and pretend I'm not ready to punch the next person that bothers me or stresses me out more because someone was calling about canceling an order. And, my department manager forgot I was off at 4PM and almost had my brother -- whom I had JUST started getting help from to get everything out because he had a free moment from truck stuff -- do something else which would've left me pretty fùcked with no one else to do anything and there's no way in Hèll I was staying over. But, with the quick reminder, he was told to stay and get what was left done and not worry about anything else unless he had the time to do it and I was able to go home.

            17. I got home and slammed my already injured finger in the door.

12. Get back from break at 2PM and I have to quickly break down bistro and weigh/count and tag it all out before throwing it all away -- except for some of the fried stuff I had to save and put in the chill blast to be packaged for cold wall tomorrow -- putting the dishes in the sink to be washed whenever it can be done. Missed doing my 2 o'clock temps because I was too busy and there's no one to help me. Or I did do the temps, but I can't remember, I had too much going on and too much I still had to do. . .

            13. Have to start doing everything like from the first round all over again -- except this time I have pan spray and tenders, and I don't need as much fried or baked or tenders because I was only doing a half of a bistro instead of a full one like that morning. And, again, I had to do it all by myself still.

            14. Once everything was down in the fryers and put in the ovens to cook, I get everything I can at that moment broken down to be ready to be cleaned until it all mostly got done cooking by 3:30PM except for the whole birds; except none of the dishes were done. So, I had to temp everything, then quickly wash what dishes I needed, and turn the bistro back on.

9. Everything keeps getting done earlier than I was planning, so I had to get it all temped and packaged and tagged while also scrambling to quickly serve some people for the bistro -- having to do everything myself because my department head was covering counter, the backup manager that started that day was who knows where, and my brother was getting the Deli's truck delivery -- and wasn't able to stop to be able to take my break until 1:30PM.

            10. Couldn't get the lunch from the bistro I wanted -- would've been $6.30 with my Employee Discount -- because all the fries were gone and I didn't want to just get the spicy wings themselves because it would've cost $9 or more depending on the weight and it wasn't worth that, so I had to spend $10 for a foot-long BMT and chips and a drink at Subway instead.

            11. My chickens didn't arrive until I was heading on my break at 1:30PM.

Sweet!! Just learned that I'm allowed to ask the barista (for some reason, my phone is trying to gaslight me in to thinking that's not a real word??) to make my favorite drink (gingerbread oatmilk latte) without chai and replace it with a different tea!! No more having my throat and mouth burning strangely/risking a worse reaction after every sip!! Just gotta think of which tea (ginger, black, green, or herbal) because I don't want the flavor to be changed drastically and not taste as good or have a bad taste, but I hate tea by itself and think they all taste bad so idk. I think the ginger tea might be the more fitting one, not because of the name, but because I've had that by itself before and I think it's flavor would go well with that drink despite it tasting like garbage by itself. . . I'll find out when I order it, I guess!

Since Saturday or Sunday (my days blur together, but it was one of those days) I've been having a severely sore throat that leaves it difficult swallowing anything other than soup, a headache that makes my head feel like it's gonna explode, constant sneezing, some coughing, constant runny nose and a bit of nasal congestion that I can't hardly breathe through my nose and I have to keep blowing my nose, random shivers even though I'm not cold, chest congestion that it feels tight and makes it hard to breathe, dry eyes, fatigue, and it feels like I'm being simultaneously manually strangled while having barbed wire around my throat while I'm choking on sandpaper.

I've tried everything I could to get better: Cough drops, Medicine Balls from Starbucks, steaming hot baths, Robittusin, my mom's inhaler, resting, staying hydrated, keeping a humidifier in my room, and Hot Tati's as Jack Daniel's Whiskey with honey and heated up and 80 proof Rum with honey and heated up; but absolutely none of it has helped and I'd feel worse or exactly the same, and it was starting to piß me off.

So, I finally wore down and went to the clinic yesterday after work. She took my temp as 99.3°F (I was 99°F that morning and I'm usually 96°F-97°F), saw and felt some swelling in my throat, and prescribed me with Azithromycin 500mg (one tablet a day for the next 3 days) and see if that does anything.

So, we shall see. . .

Stitch_is_Life25

After taking all the prescribed medicine, I was left with just the cold (it was bronchitis+cold), so went back and got prescribed Flonase and Prednisone (99.5°F was my temp that time), which made it so I didn't have to blow my nose as often and lessened some of the congestion. Was still sick an entire other week before yesterday came and I ended up getting a migraine before bed before randomly getting nauseous that it triggered a mild panic attack and I ended up continuously puking for the next two and a half hours and needed to call off work, then was left with my stomach churning for the rest of the day ((((: Fun times!! /s

I've decided I don't like subwoofers. Like, I love my music being loud; but with subwoofers, you can't understand a word of anything being sang, and it gets to a point where every single song sounds/feels like it's one whole thing altogether and it gets super annoying very quickly. I like LISTENING to my music. Ya know, like, actually HEARING the different words and melodies and blah blah blah. Otherwise, what's the point of it?

Hazard lights are for when you're pulled over in an area with oncoming traffic and you're having an emergency/problem, they're NOT for when you park you're f*cking car for five seconds to get out and do something menial then get back in and leave, or pulled in to an area with no oncoming ANYTHING to look at your phone for two seconds before leaving!!

Stitch_is_Life25

I don't know what people expect they're gonna accomplish by recording a sign that states we've closed early and the machines covered up to farther help indicate you need to f*ck off because no one is available because 99.99% of people don't know how to freaking read a sign right in front of your face, but when that sign is up it's literally because we. do. not. have. anybody. We are INCREDIBLY short staffed. And, just because we have that sign up and you see ONE person there, does not mean that person is available to help you. That associate has a million other things that need to get done and they do not have room to also take care of your crap on top of it, which the people leading that department understand, which is why the rest of the place is closed to allow that associate to get done what they need to get done.

It's not on the employee, and it's not on the department leader for the zero staff availability, it's on the other people that do the hiring for the store. Some dipsh*t is promising people they don't have to work weekends and can work 3 days of the week for only 4hrs at a specific time (which helps us exactly not at all), lying and saying that only certain parts of the store are available to get more people in the department they want filled when it's literally the entire freaking store that is low staffed and can barely get ends to meet because there's just no availability.

You want a certain department to be open at the time you decide to come in, then grab an application and suck it up for whatever days and hours they give you.

Yesterday was fun.

Went to Walgreens to get my photo taken for my passport and it was around noon, but they were relatively empty. I walked passed this employee lounging at his station at the register and go up to the photo area, ring the bell for assistance because no one was over there and the guy slams his little door open while groaning loudly and aggrevatedly going "Come on, really?" Thankfully, I didn't have to deal with him because another lady came over and was like, "Are you picking up a photo?" very nice, and I go, "No, I need one taken for a passport." And Jackaß loudly groans and says, "Oh, a passport. Go to the freaking post office." (If you're intelligent, you'd know post offices do not take your photo, they send you somewhere else to do it because they are a post office not a BMV.) In that moment, I'm glad my dad had decided to stay in the car instead of coming in with me because my dad has a non-exsistent fuse and grew up in the bad areas of New York, so he would've punched the guy in the face (which he's done before on multiple occasions when dealing with dìck-ish personalities). And, I look at his co-worker and state, "Well, since he's not being very quiet, I'm not going to be either. Your co-worker is a dìck." She agrees with me and tells me that that's his second customer complaint today, and the manager already knows about him being rude. Then, he starts piling stuff on the counter in front of me while I'm waiting to get my photos from the lady before she comes over and scans my photos and asks if the items were mine, to which I clearly said, "No, your dìckhead co-worker put them there."

I gave no fùcks that day *shrugs* lol

I've had bad days at work before too and I've gotten aggrevated on many occasions with customers for a variety of reasons, and there have been times where my mood is just generally really low some days, but I have never once expressed those negative emotions towards the customers, especially not while I'm working. There is no excuse to behave that way

Sadly, I didn't see him on my way out because I was fully planning on flipping him off with a sarcastic smile and saying, "See you around, dìckhead!" But, eh, he was close enough and I was probably loud enough that he heard my other comments about him, so I'll be satisfied with that and knowing he more than likely got fired *shrugs*.
