Happy May!

It is the first day of May,
          	the roses, azaleas, and irises,
          	They are all in bloom!
Such a beautiful sight all around.

It is also the National Day of Prayer,
So take time out of your busy schedule to pray.
          	 Pray for our nation,
          	to turn back to God,
and for the lost to be found,
Pray for everyone the big and small,
Pray for God's mercy on us all.
          	 Amen.

The roses are red,
          Violets are blue.
           Jesus is my best friend,
He died on the cross for me,
          for you,
          and for everyone else, too.

          He was buried,
          and he rose again,
and he offers forgiveness to those who ask him to.

Update on the status since the stitches were removed on St.Patrick's day, I have had to deal with the remaining bruises and slow-healing scar left on my face. Despite all this, I am glad that the skin cancer is 100 percent gone!
The left side of my head might itch, and feel a bit sore, but it is gradually healing each day.
Please remember to check for any signs of problems with moles, such as bleeding, the shape changing suddenly, or changing colors. These are all signs of skin cancer. There are three types: Basil, the type I had removed, squamous, and Melanoma. The other two tend to grow at an even faster rate.
Melanoma is treated with radiation or chemotherapy depending on what the doctor decides is the best treatment for it since it spreads to other parts of the body.
Basil typically includes white speckles, bleeding, and sudden changes in size/shape.
Squamous includes size and shape changes, rarely includes bleeding, but can include color changes. It can spread quickly.
No matter which type, skin cancer is no laughing matter.

The dermatologist's office called me yesterday with a last-minute cancellation. I was able to get in to have the rest of the Basil cell removed that day instead of waiting until next week for the surgery. I was given twenty-two stitches. Let me tell you, the whole thing went well, but once the numbing wore off it was a different story. Now, I keep having headaches and feeling tired. The stitches will be removed on Monday of next week. I hope everything heals well.
            Sincerely,
          Summer Cheng
PS. if you ever have a mole that suddenly changes in size, or bleeds let alone both let a dermatologist know soon. That is the sign that it is no longer a mole, but has turned into a form of skin cancer.

On February 6th, I went to the dermatologist's office to have a mole looked at, but it turned out that it was no longer a mole. The thing had turned into a Basil cell. A biopsy was done on it that day and sent off to the lab. The lab results show that not all of it is gone yet. So, unless, I get a call saying there is a sooner date available, I have to go back on March 18, 2025, to have the rest of the Basil cell (a type of skin cancer) removed. I will have stitches there on the temple area to my head afterward. I am a bit nervous about this because it will be a painful experience and because it is my first time finding out I have skin cancer.
              Sincerely,
          Summer Cheng
PS. I hold onto God's promises in Joshua 1:9, and II Timothy 2:7.

Ugh, I have been sick since at least Monday with a stinking cold again. At least, I think it is a cold. No fever. I have been feeling cold off, and on, with a headache, sore throat, stuffy/runny nose, and cough. Anyway, I will try my best to update more things when I am better.
           Thanks for understanding,
          Til next time,
          owlets!
          Sincerely,
