How many words does a chapter have to have? Is 500 words acceptable?

i’ve read somewhere [scrolling through wattpad help and jazz] that a good chapter should be around 1500 words. but, anything is acceptable.

          So I’m looking for a certain book. I don’t remember the name but I remember I liked it. 
          
          It’s Lams and one of them was in an accident. I’m pretty sure it was Alex. Something also happens to John along the way. I’m pretty sure he kinda went crazy in the boom. 
          
          It’s not my book or “One and Only”. If you could help that’d be great.
