@alphascifi Don't. My family is the same way. I had my mother's old HTC One X until yesterday - I still have it minus service - and that thing wasn't suffering from even half of the problems my parents' newer phones were. Sure, it was way behind in software, had severely limited storage space, and had a lot of cracks on the screen since its OtterBox fell apart and I accidentally cast it down onto concrete after tripping on its charge cord, but it still had a decent battery life and was fairly fast, as opposed to my mother's Galaxy S6 suffering from ridiculously short battery life - dead at 90%! - and my father's ludicrously slow newer HTC phone, though that latter one was in part due to him not knowing anything about clearing background apps and caches. Old-phone-itis my butt, they simply don't make them like they used to. My phone did have to be resurrected once recently after it died while charging and gave no indication of it receiving power, though. Thank God it came back to life - literally.
