Hello y'all,

I don't have any big news, just a little update on His Sinful Heiress - with chapter 28 recently published, we have 17 chapters left before Happily Ever AfterTM. I love writing this book, especially because the characters have to do emotional labour and make difficult choices to actually earn their happiness, there are no easy shortcuts or 'things will magically fall into place' solutions.

So, yes, get your napkins ready, because a chapter or two may be filled with catharsis.

It is perhaps a little gritty for some of you looking for light romantic escapism, and yet more realistic in its portrayal of how living in your own head can be dangerous and hurtful. The story is about overcoming grief, insecurities and past experiences, and calls for acceptance, love and fulfilment even in the harshest of circumstances.

I'm currently finishing the draft of chapter 42, so all is going according to plan, and the book even got a new cover - I hope you like it!

That's it for now, see ya next month 8)

          	Xx
          	Sylvia

Hello, long time no hear from me, eh?

It's actually been a bit of a cricket here, as my personal life has unfortunately caught up with me. This doesn't mean that I stopped writing offline ;)

          What's new:

☺ In Magician's Embrace - was submitted to a Romance Reads 2024 contest a long time ago and won an Honorable Mention in its category (Historical Romance)! Phew, I'm glad this story is going strong with almost 9K views!

☺ A Bet On Hearts - has been selected for the 3rd round of the Ambys 2024 contest! Having recently passed 7K views, I honestly wasn't sure it would get so much attention, being a clean romance!

☺ Bewitching The Recluse - despite not being shortlisted for Wattys, I'm celebrating the amazing milestone of 10K views! I remember how happy I was when I got the first views, and I still cannot quite believe that this has actually happened to me.

His Sinful Heiress - is almost at the end as far as offline drafts go. I just finished chapter 38 yesterday, although my editing skills are a little off these days. It takes me up to 3 days to edit a single chapter and schedule it for publication. The book seems to end - according to the current outline - with 44 chapters and an epilogue, so it's only 7 chapters away from the completion! Where has all the time gone?!

Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who reads my book, notices my updates and patiently waits for the release of Price Saga Book 3!

          Xx
          Sylvia

Hello everyone!

If you have only recently started following me - thank you & know that I am not as active with announcements as many users tend to be, although I do post an update at least once a month.

          So, what's new?

☺ His Sinful Heiress - where this steamy Victorian HR is concerned, I have just finished a draft of chapter 34. I aim to finish the book in 40-45 chapters including the epilogue, so I doubt it will take me longer than the end of the year to finish this story. And I miss our protagonists already!

☺ A Bet On Hearts - passed 6K views, yay!

☺ Contests - don't forget we'll have a shortlist for Wattys in October, maybe even the winners of the Romance Reads competition.

☺ The Curse Of Insolence (Prize #3) - still stuck on chapter 12 with the outline for the next 4 chapters. Can't wait to get to the arrogant Arden Price's shenanigans (and Lady Kendall's quips!), but in order to focus on the earlier conclusion of HSH, I've taken a break from this story despite the temptation.

That's it for now, enjoy the beginning of autumn!

          Xx

Hi!! Very excited to read His Sinful Heiress. Have you considered altering the language around suicide to “died by suicide”? Suicide is no longer a crime (in most of the world), so “committing suicide” is both antiquated and implies the person did something illegal. Thought I’d reach out since you seem very lovely and all for reducing stigma ❤️

Johanne150

@Sylvia-Norcroft ah! I appreciate the historical detail! The bio threw me off a bit without the extra context.

@Johanne150 Hello! Thank you for your feedback - let me put some historical context on why I used 'committed' instead of 'died' in this case:

Until the Suicide Act of 1961 in the UK, suicide was legally considered a crime. Those who attempted suicide and survived could face legal penalties, and the estates of those who died by suicide could be forfeited to the Crown.

This is why, in 1884 (the year in which our story begins), Lord Giles keeps the truth about the incident under wraps; it also helps that the family are of royal lineage and in good standing with Her Majesty, who takes Giles' word for granted.
Another meaning of the word relevant to the story is that Henry sees Andrew's decision as a crime against himself, which literally forces him to forfeit his passion and lifelong work for a title he never wanted.

I hope this explanation helps❤️! The story is not meant to stigmatise the act itself, but is written with regard to the legal and moral views of the Victorian era and how they affect the main heroes.

Hello, hello!

I am happy to be back with a bit of updates, so here we go:

☺ His Sinful Heiress - the book is scheduled for a Friday 8 pm CET update from today onwards. Happy reading!

☺ The Curse Of Insolence - I'm currently writing a draft of chapter 12 and so far it's going smoothly. No promises though on when I start uploading this book just yet, HSH is the priority at the moment.

          Enjoy the summer season y'all!

[TEASER]
„Sabrina, my parents have inquired of me recently... why do we not marry? We are of the same age, and it is unlikely that I shall ever be permitted to wed the... sexus of my true preference. Furthermore, we possess a profound understanding of one another, and I assure you, I hold no prejudice against your disability or any objection towards other aspects of your person."

His Sinful Heiress returns in 2 weeks with a 1x update per week, every Friday 8pm CET!

Sylvia-Norcroft

I did it, eh? The Foreword and the first chapter of His Sinful Heiress has been posted for your pleasure!

Yes, I do have a penchant for dropping things at unexpected times and not only from my hands.

I decided to go with HSH this time instead of Price Saga book #3 due to prolonged stress in my life. I'm simply not able to put my mind into such extensive plotting that is required for the story at the moment. Sadly, it means that the book may be postponed to next year, but as I usually say - it's a passion project and I'm not putting it out if I don't have the feeling that it's 110% of quality.

HSH is a story of two people whose lives change abruptly and they have to make a leap into unknown, and in doing so, their deepest insecurities and traumas resurface. So much fun, indeed, hehehe.

Hello, your monthly digest of my endeavours is here!

          ☺ So, what's new here?
♥ A Bet On Hearts - the book is again trending in its obscure tags, hooray! I've recently noticed a shift in views, which makes me utterly happy!

Also, maybe it's bad news for some, but the story will finish on the 1st of June, because, erm, chapter 30 somehow went out of my hands and beyond what I had initially planned. I had to split it into two parts for a better reading experience (believe me, the original length surpassed 6.2k words).

Note, that the EPILOGUE chapter is going to be the last, the book will be marked as complete afterwards. Yes, this means I've got the rest of the chapters scheduled already.

Can't believe I've got 3 books under my belt now!

♥ In Magician's Embrace & Bewitching The Recluse - I'm in awe that both books have thus far surpassed 5k views each! It is much more than I anticipated, frankly speaking, I expected the attention to die out somewhere at the 1k mark.

Hopefully, I will live to see 10k there!

☺ What about the immediate future?
♥ Well, I certainly plan to work on book 3 in the Price Saga silently for the next few months but also give reads and comments where they are due.

Your girl is also starting a new job in just 5 days! Hence, I'm moving to another city in a few days, meaning my hands will and won't be free at the same time, mainly due to my pursuit of a new living place. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

That's it for now, see ya later!

          Xx

Hello, hello!
A monthly mandatory update is here as two of my books are nearing their conclusion.

☺ So what's the current status?
♦ A Bet On Hearts - this one lost rankings, sadly, due to the new system WP put in place. Of course, I wrote a ticket to support and now I'm waiting in a queue I presume to be as huge as the oceans there are. It also makes me consider to crosspost this book on another platform, but we shall see.

I'm editing chapter 25 today, which puts us to 5 more weeks of uploads after 13.4. (Saturday is the usual release day), yet be aware that I'm also currently looking for a job, so it could get pushback. However, I don't see the book ongoing later than the end of July 2024.

♦ Bewitching The Recluse - the book concludes on 23.4. with the release of a second epilogue featuring the main hero and important side characters of book 3, along with the Author's Note.

♦ In Magician's Embrace - the book has been accepted for the Romance Reads 2024 contest run by @Romance and I'm hopeful to get lauded there, so keep ya fingers crossed!

☺ When will the new book drop?
Oh my, that's quite tricky to say, because the Price Saga is a passion project where I deliver only my 110%. This means I won't start releasing before I have 50% of the book written and figured out the second half of the story.

So, an optimistic scenario would be the 1st chapter drop around the end of August/beginning of September.

The pessimistic scenario is the end of October/beginning of November.

☺ Will there be more standalone books in the future?
♦ Certainly! But not before the Price Saga finishes with book 4 being the last. I've managed 2 books at once for the past months and the experience has been so daunting that I do not plan to do it anymore, lol.

The next standalone, however, will feature older MCs, Victorian-era and filth. He is a starchy Duke and an archaeologist, she is an American heiress and an author of lewd novels.

So that's it for now, see ya in a month!

          Xx
