@dashimir its not impossible  to become good. That just takes putting the hours in but also learning about things like plot structure, dialog, exposition  and so on. There's  a lot of technical  aspects to it. What it is is hard to find an audience or to become published. That doesn't mean you can't  make a living from writing, but may mean you might need to broaden your concept of what making a living  out if writing  means, especially  at the moment

I just want to make sure I can be good. I have always loved reading and one day getting annoyed at how a book ended I decided to give into writing back in 5th grade. I have been on my computer ever since typing for hours. 
            My mother keeps saying things that it is nearly impossible for writers to become good. As well as my father saying the dream isn't that worth it in the future. 
            When I am on the computer I feel like I have the whole world at my fingertips and I want to make myself do great at it. My mother had the dream of becoming a children's book author, but I want to be able to accomplish it for myself. 
            I just always thought what made a good writer/author were the people that read your stories. I don't try to keep improving my writing, I just want to try when I write to make it sound great.
