          Your book sounds amazing, it's sad it's been 7 years but these books didn't get the recognition which it deserves🥲 well i wanna try but I don't read switch or topv still plot is tempting to read so I wanna clear it before reading, did you give warning before smut and who would be top in every smut???🥹 And looks top more in this book ??

I’m honestly still a little overwhelmed that "The Mudman and Me" received an Honorable Mention in this year's Open Novella Contest. ONC also shared that my story was one of the pieces they were considering  alongside the winners. Although it didn't win, just being close to that final group feels incredibly meaningful to me.
          
          I’ve spent so much time doubting, and wondering if my writing had any place among so many talented voices. So having my work resonate enough to reach this stage is something I’m deeply grateful for. 
          
          My goal was only to write something honest to my voice. This experience reminded me that trusting that voice matters, and that showing up to create is already its own kind of courage.
          
          I’m truly honored to be part of a community filled with such passionate storytellers. Thank you for reading, supporting, and sharing this journey with me. It’s been a beautiful experience.

I finally wrapped up Stupid Samuel: Extended Version. Wild to think this story started several decades ago as a university assignment where we had to turn in a short story every week. I used to sit in the campus square staring at sculptures that I don’t understand the meaning of, and one day I had the idea to write something about it. So I did.
          
          At that time, I also thought myself as a character in The Emperor’s New Clothes, so if there are any echoes of that story here, it’s intentional. 
          
          Back then, I stopped the story right when Samuel got banished from the village. No resolution, no follow up — he just vanished because I had no idea what to do with him. And now here we are, finally giving him the ending he should’ve had ages ago.
          
          This is my second submission for the Amby’s. I was supposed to join the Shorty’s too, but with the house move happening in September, I had to be realistic. One competition at a time.

I’m so happy to share that "The Mudman and Me" made the ONC2026 Shortlist. It was an unexpected surprise, and I’m grateful it resonated with a few.  
          
          This story took more out of me than anything else I’ve written. I cried with Lee and Muddy, sat with them, and laughed with them. Maybe because this one sits closest to home. There are pieces of me stitched into every chapter—some softened, some exaggerated, all honest.  
          
          And no, I’m not a wildlife technician like Lee. I’d last five minutes in the wilderness. But they carry enough of my spirit that I gave them my name, and maybe that’s why writing this felt like opening a door I don’t usually touch. 
          
          But I'm glad I did.

I haven't written a word in two weeks since I've been sick in bed. All my buffer chapters for this book have now dried up so updates will be whenever I get better. This puts a wrench in my plans to submit three works to the Amby's. I might have just to deal with two.

After the long wait, I'm so happy to announce that I've made it to the ONC 2026 Longlist. Whew! 
          
          The Longlist has been my goalpost since the beginning as I'm not under any illusions of winning but it's a fun ride to be sure.!!
