I am a high school English teacher in rural Iowa. I have been writing for as long as I can remember and had the opportunity to learn and grow at the University of Iowa's prestigious writing program.

A lot of my work is inspired by my own experiences or the lives of people I know. Most recently, I have been inspired by my students to create pieces that appeal to them. Many of my students come from difficult backgrounds, so maybe, I'll be able to help them tell their own stories, too.
