@SusanVang don’t expect on them. As a matter of fact, I quit the awards a while ago. It’s always the same old boring song with all the awards, they start but never end.

I want to firstly and foremost apologise for my absence. A lot has happened over the past few months, and these have primarily been due to circumstances that are completely out of my control. I will be releasing the results at some point, but I hope you understand that they are going to be released throughout this year, meaning from now up until Decemeber 2020. I understand to a lot of people waiting that this can be frustrating, but I have not been well the past several months: I think it's time I made my health my number one priority. I made this community to help bring people together, and not tear them apart. After having a hiatus on this account due to health reasons, today I logged in to see not one, not two but SIX hateful messages from various people on various accounts. They have all been reported and removed from the contest (which I don't know if anyone still cares about anymore.) As some of you may know, I haven't been well over the past few months and this has been something that I have been trying so hard to resolve. Please be patient - I know that I am asking for a lot. I will get the results out: this contest and account has not been abandoned. It just may take longer than we all expected. Please continue to stay safe, and feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns or queries. I am happy to help wherever I can. Thank you.
I hope you start to feel better and I employee you to take your time. I’m sorry you went through all that and I’m glad you are putting your best foot forward.
@TheAvalonSociety I'm so sorry that happened!!!!! But I'm glad you are okay!!♡♡♡ stay healthy!! You are the first priority

Hello, I messaged back in the middle of April but no one ever answered me. Is there any idea when the results for the contest will be up??
@VictoriaKaer Please don't spread hateful messages on this account. We are about unity - not about tearing other people down for their illnesses. I do care about this account, I do care about this contest and I do care about all of you. I do feel responsible in letting you all down. But if I had to make a choice about my own health versus an online contest, I will always choose my health. I'm sure you can agree on that too. I also have chronic migraines, muscular/neurological problems, seizures, anxiety and a host of other personal issues too. The best thing about Wattpad, is that no-one gets to see that side of us. People make their own opinions on who we are based on our actions and the way we present ourselves, not on our illnesses. But if someone raises their hand to announce that they are unwell, which I had done so, please don't take it as a surprise. Everyone has some sort of health problem. Everyone has something. Let's continue to spread positivity amongst the group, and let's continue to support each other so that we can get this contest done and account closed. The results will be released between now up until the end of December 2020. I hope you understand
@Rosie_80 Yes, it does. I don't understand people who don't take their job seriously, no matter how crappy the job is you work there it's your responsibility to get the stuff done. There's one place I worked at where people just wouldn't show up and they tolerated it. It annoyed me so much cause I showed up no matter how crappy I felt (I get migraines and have a lot of muscular issues that make it hard for me to stand for long periods, but I did it cause it was my job)
Hey, hope you and your family are fine.
Currently recovering from COVID-19 symptoms. I know what you're going to say: "Kay, your timing is impeccable!" But my brother is an NHS (the UK's health service) frontline worker, and contracted the virus from one of his patients (side note: we need more PPE desperately!) Since me and my dad are both high risk, and the rest of my family have already recovered from it, we need to take particular caution as we're both sick. I've had a fever of 40° last night, and this morning it's dropped to 39°. I'm struggling to cope, but I'd rather try to recover at home rather than go to the hospital, since the nurses and doctors are already under so much pressure from this pandemic. If you want me to be honest, which I can't see why you wouldn't, I contracted the virus AFTER the results for Avalon were supposed to be due. Meaning, that the fact that I'm sick right now is no excuse for me not being able to deliver the results by the 31st March/1st April (because I wasn't feeling any symptoms then). So please accept my sincerest apologies for all of this - I should have had the results ready last week. I'll be releasing the results over this month (so like Horror and Fantasy one week, and maybe LGBTQ+ and Short Story another week etc). Most of the results are in now (I've got about another 15 to judge, and they're like odd ones for certain genres, so at the moment no genre is fully judged). I might be a little bit vacant on this account and my personal ones, so please bear with me! Stay safe guys ♡
I’m so sorry your going through something like this. I hope all is well and that you feel better.
@TheAvalonSociety I'm sure the participants will understand due to these circumstances. Safety and health matters most. Stay strong, and we KNOW you'll recover. ❤❤❤
The 31st March is tomorrow, which is RESULTS DAY! =)♡ I've still got over 30 books left to judge as a large number of judges dropped out at the last second. But I can tell you, that I WILL start posting results tomorrow! It might just overflow into the 1st April, but I CAN promise that all results WILL be out by this Wednesday =)♡
@TheAvalonSociety That's just immature and selfish that judges dropped-out. But thank you for running this competition.
A lot of the world are Social Distancing right now, and although it's an incredibly difficult and stressful time, it is very very necessary. Staying at home helps us to protect our health services from being pressured with new cases of COVID-19 and will inevitably help to save lives. There's nothing wrong with feeling a little isolated during this period and there's nothing wrong with feeling lonely. After all, this has never happened before and we are currently living in a critical moment in our history. Kids in a couple years time will be learning about 'The Great Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020,' and will learn about how we conquered it in History lessons. So what story do we want to tell? Do we want to tell them how we gave up, ignored government advice and continued to have face to face interaction with our friends? Or do we want to inspire kids in the future about how we abided by the government laws, reduced the strain on health services and saved the lives of those who are high-risk, like myself? Social distancing is an act of heroism because you're stopping the virus from spreading, and therefore saving lives. When you're feeling lonely and bored, and are missing spending time with your loved ones, please remember that. We're all learning at the same time and we're going through this together. So, let's support each other in this moment of need and social distance together. My DMs are always open on this account and @kayjaytailor so feel free to ping me whenever you need it. Loneliness is a difficult thing, but sharing that loneliness with someone else always makes it a little less painful =)♡
One of the General Fiction Judges has changed! Go check out the Entries pages now to make sure that you're following your judge! =)♡ If you don't comply with the rules, unfortunately you'll have 10 points docked off your original score =(
Just 6 more days until the results! I'm so excited - are you? =)♡
@TheAvalonSociety Even if I'm not up there, I'm definitely excited to see all of everyone else who won this one!
CALLING ALL PARTICIPANTS Have you guys followed your judges yet? No? Well, go check the book out and go do that ASAP! We'll be docking off 10 points for not following your judge whilst the awards is in motion (and that's a lot of points!) You can find your judge in the "Entries" pages for your genre. PLEASE NOTE: Judges are constantly being replaced/removed due to their inactivity. Please keep your eyes on the Entries chapters to make sure you're following the right people (this isn't a permanent follow - you can unfollow once the contest is over) So, go and check the Entries chapters to make sure you're following the right people! =)♡
