I'm a crazy bookworm who can't live without reading romance novels. I'm also a sceptical romantic - someone who won't be wooed by pretty words or flowers. I'm extremely honest and open - unless I severely dislike you (that's slightly above all-out hatred). I like singing in my shower, dancing in my kitchen and randomly muttering under my breath. All in all, pretty normal, right? ;)
I'm a feminist (which is NOT man-hating - that'd make me a bit of a hypocrite) and so I hate writing/reading about weak female characters with their manly men to take care of them. I think all real love relationships should be equal, but not necessarily Dom+Dom or Sub+Sub (had to use those terms, don't freak out). It has to be an equal give and take, a partnership. No-one's a leader and no-one's a follower - two halves of a whole.
Phew... I could argue to the moon and back about love and relationships. :P I get carried away at times.
So, what's it like to be South African?
Not very much different to what it's like to be any teenager in any part of the world, actually. I mean, there's the load-shedding (the electricity is cut off from certain neighbourhoods at certain times due to the high demand) and yeah, there's the third-world country thing, but when you live your whole life with the facts, you adapt. Being a South African doesn't mean that you're necessarily black or that you ride on giraffes on your way to school (OMG, I wish). Put simply, it's just a nationality.
Now, on with me (because I'm so fascinating ;P).
I grew up in an Indian family, which has made me a bit of a rebel. Hey, when your evil Hindu grandmother tells you who you're going to marry, when you're going to date and how many kids you're going to have... you either bend or snap back. It was a lot funnier to snap back and watch her blow. I tend to say quirky things to get out of awkward situations, I'm a natural flirt (which scares me) and I can't lie for shit.
