Just a little update: I added a few new details to Chapter 4, during the conversation between Viviana and Aemond. I felt Aemond’s gaze needed a bit more intensity 
          
          I also changed Viviana’s reaction when Aemond asks about her injury (in the previous version, she avoided the question), along with a few other small additions/modifications here and there, if anyone feels like rereading the chapter :)

Chapter 6 has just been posted! I may change the title later though...

Chapter 5 is up! (+ a few tweaks to Chapter 4)

Quick question for fanfic readers and writers: I sometimes see authors introduce their characters at the beginning of the story.
          Is that something readers actually expect or find necessary?
          
          I’m more in the “discover the characters and their personalities as the story unfolds” camp, rather than revealing everything upfront and risking spoilers.
          
          Viviana might seem simple at first, but she actually has a fairly complex arc for those familiar with the story (torn between duty and her feelings, just like Aemond).

          Sorry it takes me so long between chapters, but I’m trying to polish my writing as much as possible, which isn’t easy when you’re writing in a language that isn’t your native one.

Chapter 2 is now up! This is still a revised version. I made Aemond a bit more cautious at first, since the realm is on the brink of war… but the first hints of his interest are already starting to appear <3

I’ve reposted the first chapter, this time written from Viviana’s POV. 
          It felt much more natural to write than the first version (which was from Aemond’s POV). I think I’ll switch between these different perspectives throughout the story :). Chapter two coming soon!

          Wow… I haven’t been around since July last year…
          I’ve been completely absorbed by my AI fanfiction on YouTube, but I’m finally finishing the last episode, the "canon ending".
          
          I’m really looking forward to writing here again, especially since I already have new ideas in mind that will be a bit different from the video version.
