I started writing stories in 2014. I started with an idea on a table napkin and then continued in the margins of a sudoku puzzle book that I had with me. This while on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I can pin this down because when I ran out of margin space, I had my room steward find some RC stationary.

One of our stops on that cruise was in Guatemala where I bought a colorful notebook. That has been full for a while. I keep it in my desk drawer to remind me.
Later that year I received a coded invitation from a new website called 'Write On'. At that time, you apparently needed an invitation to join, although Amazon opened it to all comers later. There I found a diverse group of fellow writers willing to share experiences and expertise. This incredible group has helped me to grow both my skills and my confidence. For two and a half years, until Amazon closed the website, this group, the Writeon Writers, has been my source of inspiration, encouragement, and camaraderie.
With growth comes change, c'est la vie. Many of us migrated to this platform where we created the Weekend Write-In group.
