Hey, it's been a while. Progress on my book is slow and so are ideas... I don't think people realize how challenging it is to write a story, even with a "skeleton" set up.  So sorry if you were expecting more or anticipating new chapters quickly.

Chapter 2 of Crown of Blood is up! It took me all day, but I finally finished it.

Hey all! I posted Chapter 1 of Crown of Blood. Don't know if this matters, but sorry the updates are slow. I am rewriting my own story and putting more thought into it this time around. I'm also not sure how people like it since there aren't comments or anything like that.

Continuing from below: would I do better (votes, likes, comments, reads) as an author if I were to identify trends and follow them despite not actually enjoying following said trends? As in, sacrificing personal creative spirit (however you want to define that) if it means getting actual attention and traction.

How do you get more people to read your book, as in "get it out there"? Is there a special marketing trick? What about specific tropes, themes, and character traits, that should be followed because "most people" like books that include those? Or, an even bigger question: What do I do if I don't like to write what "most people" want to read? Any thoughts? I've been on and off giving up on writing because it's a let down whenever I post something and it gets no traction at all... yet other stories get to a massive number of views, comments, and likes, all in a matter of weeks.
