If my writing is a hobby, then I've let myself get carried away.

Attempting to teach oneself a craft so demanding should make anyone think twice.

After all my schooling was insipid, so by rights I shouldn't be able to do this at all.

But it felt like catching a virus.

Once infected there's nothing you can do... except write.

Most novelists are 'lifers' by compulsion, irrespective of possible returns.

I define compulsion thusly: When you are marooned alone on a desert island, you will write the wretched thing in the sand, knowing the tide will wash it away in a few hours.

If this seems mindless, you are right. Compulsion often defies logic.

Dragon's Island, the exciting sequel to God's Island, is now complete.
I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it.
