Tragicarmody

"Teen drama", and "drama" in general-- in Wattpad and the entertainment world at large-- have unfortunate connotations as shallow. Take a look in the teen drama tag, for instance. It's all about who's in love with who, who's cheating on who, scandalous couples, who the baby's father is. Of course, this doesn't mean there's no murder and whatnot-- look at Riverdale, and didn't people get shot on Gossip Girl? But drama is about the dramatic arts, not that Protagonist is making out with their teacher or their enemy or their friend's brother. Sure, drama has all the angst, but it doesn't have to be so frustratingly sex and romance focused in the shallow way that it is. Sure, including romance isn't a crime, but it doesn't have to be so one-dimensional. (And for the love of god, know how to write the romance. (Tip #1: It's not just eating each other's faces all day long because he's a hot boy, she's a hot girl, duh.)) I am aaaaaaaaall for drama, bur make it nuanced, dark and gritty on occasion, something with, you know, *substance*.

DomiSotto

Thank you so much for adding my books to your reading list, that was nice :)

@DomiSotto Of course! I'm happy to. I feel like the one good part about quarantine is that I'll have more time to actually use Wattpad and other sites and support other creators^^

I may post previews for my projects as I go along. I was thinking as I was working on a novel today that the scene I was writing would make an excellent preview of the book's tone and content within a single excerpt. Better yet, the scene goes along with an artwork of the main character I've been meaning to make for a long time. So my idea is to eventually post a small excerpt with a piece of original (or possibly commissioned) art for each of my projects, just to give a taste of them since they will not be released for quite some time. Although depending on my submission plans for the project, there may be some I have to withhold due to submission guidelines to, for instance, a contest or magazine. But as I am quite excited about the scene I am currently working on, I will probably post that in a work for my project previews when I am ready, just to make my page a little less empty.

Finally here to start this up. I have five long-term projects, one of which will be co-written with @copyedit . None of those will be updated for quite some time. Aside from those, I’ll gladly read others’ works and enter contests.
