          It’s been a while and with Open Novella Contest  season in progress, I'm entering a story! This one is inspired by When Harry Met Sally and The People We Meet On Vacation. 
          
          I'm still working on a bigger project offline, but need something light and fun. This story will be shorter than usual and I'm not taking it too seriously. The point is to just write and get out of my writing doldrums.

          Just thought I'd share a sneaky peek at what I’m working on offline. I'm new to this genre, so I'm sure I'll get things wrong, but it sure is fun to write! 
          
          Tropes in this book: love triangle, forbidden love, fated mates, forced proximity, reluctant prince, star-crossed lovers, redemption, and revenge 
          
          I'm aiming to begin posting in late December/early January.

          "The dust particles floating in the air come to a standstill when Darwin shifts into his wolf. His dark head of hair cascades down his back and spreads across his limbs into an ebony fur that shines like glass under the flicker of lantern light. The others shift, and Darwin moves like a shadow in the night, whipping past them in a blur and leaving his claw marks across their ribs. They howl and thrash, but I’ve never seen a wolf move like Darwin. He weaves and dodges their advances, sliding onto his knees then popping back onto his hind legs only to spin around and claw at their backs. 
          
          The bunker fills with their snarls and roars, and blood splatters across the floor, causing everyone to step back. Right when I think Darwin is winning the fight, Eric jumps on his back, and Omar tackles him head-on. I rush to the edge of the stage when the three of them collapse. My stomach rises in my throat when another leaps on top of all of them. 
          
          They claw and bite in a rolling ball of fur and somewhere between them is Darwin.
          
          This is chaos.
          
          A gang-up is not how we do things. 
          
          Bounding from the stage, I don’t hesitate as I shift mid-air and my mahogany curls transform into silky fur. When I land, my claws and fangs are ready to draw blood."

          Next month starts the 30-Day Writing Challenge and I plan to take advantage of it. The goal is to complete the story I'm working on offline. I'm halfway through, so I’m hoping to finish it and begin posting in December. January at the latest. 
          
          Completing it offline means that once I begin posting, I'll have a steady posting schedule with a book that has a guaranteed ending. I'm excited about that!
          
          I'm also dipping my feet into a new genre (with Latin lead characters, of course) and having fun with the lore. So I'm super excited about that too!!
