            for writing, i'd say read other well written books and seek out new advanced word choice. it actually improved my writing massively, because i just jotted down some words that i found i should use more. 
            
            when it comes to writing, take the time to sit down and plan the whole story out. the beginning, the plot, the characters, the setting, and the end and such. plan it all out before you begin it.
            
            lastly, be comfortable and confident with it. make sure you're writing something that you really want to write, or what makes you happy. because thats the most important thing at the end. if something makes YOU proud, then its a success.
