Oh, they've given me a set number of characters. Have mercy, for they've given me a set number of characters.

On that note--which is so relevant--I'll start off by saying I'm not actually Voltaire (shocking, I know). Just a fan of him. As for myself, well, I love to write and read, but that's somewhat of a prerequisite, no? I'm also obsessed with foreign language (I'm currently learning Spanish and French heavily, while trying my hand at German and Portuguese). But that's essentially all I would say in a passing conversation, so the rest of me can be a little my mysterious. I have a few pet-peeves (is that spelled correctly?) that I suppose I can use though, to fill up these characters I was just ranting about.

-When I ask, "Can I do X?" and someone replies, "I don't know. Can you?" Absolutely horrid. Why? "Can" in its fifth clause: "may; have permission to."

-When someone tells me to stop speaking in another language. Par example: "Yo puedo hablar un poco en español." It's even more frustrating for me when a) I give a translation immediately after, or, b) that person also speaks that language.

-When--and this one is particularly petty--I'm in the middle of a conversation-via-text and someone stops replying. Not at the end, not at the beginning, but right in the middle of the conversation.

The boy you punched in the hall today? Committed suicide a few minutes ago. That girl you called slut in class today? She's a virgin. The boy you called lame? He has to work to support his family. That girl you pushed down the other day? She's already being abused at home. That girl you called fat? She's starving herself. The old man you made fun of cause the ugly scars? He fought for our country. The boy you made fun of crying? His mother is dying. You think you know them. Guess what--you don't. (Re-post if you're against bullying.)

And I'm out of any real quantity of characters.

Ego vobis valedico.
