A spin-off idea from the Supernatural fans in the works for years, on June 20th, 2017, Deadline announced the development of a backdoor pilot for Wayward Sisters - A Supernatural spin-off starring Kim Rhodes.

The pilot is set to air at some point within the 13th season of SPN, following Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) and (quoted from the Deadline article) "a group of troubled young women, all of them orphaned by supernatural tragedy". It is said that the pilot and show will take on the storyline of Jody training the women to become tough, monster-fighting individuals - centered around a "sisterhood of girls in a foster family". Supernatural showrunners Andrew Dabb, Robert Singer, Phil Sgriccia, and Robert Berens are said to be the executive producers of Wayward Sisters.
