So today's the last day of voting - I know most of you have been using Wattpad as your foremost internet community for years, but I only joined for this contest, and as you can see, my story has a pitiful amount of views/votes. Writing is the only thing I've ever been semi-confident in, and it's discouraging to find out that to advance further, I need to somehow gather votes I have no chance of receiving. I realize we're competition, but if anyone is feeling kind or charitable, your support for my demented story would mean everything. Good luck to you all. You're brilliant. <3 @IanRCooper @RachelAukes @Monrosey @krazydiamond @gregcarrico @kellyanneblount @adam_and_jane @joecool123 @xxskater2girl16xx @zaarsenist @light-in-darkness @jessicabfry @lynns13 @annelutz @TharronSkylor @tamoja @ianrcooper @jessesprague @rskovach @prose-punk @arielklontz @mjt11g @Ms_Horrendous @BardConstantine @BrandonEaton755 @DavidGarduno8 @TLBodine @Badwolf73 @GusMB4 @jimmyj1981 @CMichaelDavis @DavidProbert @RogueGem @foxadam5 @memorableusername @AngelRay66 @Hickesy @Leoduhvinci @arlene9432 @DMKilgore @WishingOnHeadlights @elfordalley @MaxFirehammer @robertswilson @MaxShephard @ArtyJ86 @cesawyer @indyjohn @JoshSaltzman @mk-parker @AngelaBodine @ChuckAnderson3 @BloodTypeH @JosephWulczynski @AuntTressa @irishfaulk @BryanAiello @JamesHall984 @JasonKucharik @Mark_Joseph @BillBellington @ThaddeusJames @DDayFilms @KylieJude @travisflores @Williamzombie @brennangilp @PeteAltieri @CJuettner @hrnorrod @MickyNeilson @JonathanFace0 @WilliamBuhagiar @chuckrios @MJPack @BenSobieck @ericjcohen @FoinahJameson @AshleyLandonWolfe @Haven84 @ChrisKeaton @JStoltz @JamesDMabe @elaroadshow @JPParent @mikes325 @WriterKellie @mplsWriter01 @TheRecklessRebel @CharlieKenmore @NateDBurleigh @alyssawade25 @BrianBasham @CAViruet @Ascottmerrill @_Somethinggreater_ @breezyfoot @genk01 @BruceMemblatt @SheHopes

@WilliamBuhagiar Yes, the popularity voting is extremely stressful, but I second what @JesseSprague said. Getting into the top 100 does make you a winner. The thing about success on Wattpad is that its really about networking and the community lifting you up. It's a teamwork effort. I didn't quite get this for about the first year I was on the site. I wasn't connecting with people on other social sites. I had about four dedicated readers who kept reading each chapter as I posted them. I even had one person critique my work in a manner where she argued that none of my readers were sincere readers but "just friends" or other writers commenting just to get me to support their work. But honestly I'm just appreciative to actually have my work read. I'm overjoyed to get the occasionally email from someone who tells me my novel is their favorite, that I made them cry, etc. I'm surrounded by authors who continue to develop their following much faster than I do, who get tons more reads on their stories than I do. It's best not to get jealous. I'd say the biggest error I fall into is demeaning myself to avoid jealousy, but really the best thing is to really build friendships and to get to the point where you really are rooting for your friends. The first two writer friends I made on here have publishing contracts. I love that they love my work and I REALLY love theirs. In the end, you have to write for you, and you have to count your successes as they build. But, yes, it's hard. The voting period of these contests aren't fun. It's easy to feel stressed out and discouraged.
