Grief is a fickle thing. It ebbs & it flows. It has no shape. No pattern, no rules. It just is. And it's something that overtime will eventually not be as prominent in your everyday life. But it will always be there. Overtime, the specifics that grief is centered around may change, depending on the circumstances surrounding it, but that pain is something that not even Mother Nature herself can destroy or wash away. Because you see, grief never truly leaves you. One day, grief will be an old friend, that you rarely see, but when you do, it's like nothing has changed. No time has passed. Like it never left. And even when it does, you still have distant conversations every now & then. Until they are so few and far between that it's barely noticeable. And yet, you are still friends... No matter the time or space in between you. You will always be old friends.
