My novel A  Love That Heals: William & Lea won 3rd place for Best Inspirational Story but the review they gave of it was less than glowing in some respects, which was a bummer. Hey, I know I'm a new writer, and I'm still learning, and that means I'm correcting potential mistakes in earlier chapters of my story, but 5.K reads and something has to mean something. Why would people read my book if it wasn't any good?! I'm still updating and improving my story, but I don't want a negative review to turn off potential readers if they see it. What are your opinions on this?
          I like that my story took 3rd place, but they could have had a few more positive things to say about it.
          I can't write to please everyone, so I'm not even going to try.
          I'm doing my best, and that includes correcting any earlier mistakes.

@WriterGirl679805432 You want my honest thoughts? I don't play the "award game." Two reasons for that: 1. They are absolutely worthless and mean nothing. The only awards that mean shit do not come from Wattpad in any way. 2. You can get some asshat who doesn't like your work regardless of whether it is any good or not and slaughter you. That WILL be a factor in other people reading your stuff if they see it. I know you are always getting in these stupid contests. Don't. Instead, study the craft of writing. There are about a million books available to help you learn to write. I have been writing for a long time. I didn't teach myself. I took classes and bought craft books. I haven't read what they said about your story. I don't have to in order to know they shit on you...because that's what they do. Don't play the game. Don't get burned. Take the time to learn the craft. Then put your books where it counts. On retailers and sell them. I have zero intention of leaving my books on here. This is a testing ground for what I write. I have a ton of books in the works. But I am working on just a couple at the moment, because I need to get a couple of them finished. These are not my only works. I have books on Amazon. I make some money. I publish other genres under different names. You have to really hustle to make this work. Spend your time on craft, not trying to get meaningless awards that will not help you even if you get first place. No one outside of here will take it seriously.
