When I was just a kid I always secluded myself from time to time. I had friends, I had hobbies, but I wanted something more, something this world couldn't give me. 
When I was done playing for the day I would retreat into my own world, filled with magic and adventure. I first saw The Lord of the Rings when I was eight and where other children my age cowered when the orcs showed up I dreamed of fighting them myself. Many times relatives asked my mother if such a movie was appropriate for someone my age, but she saw it didn't damage me, although I can't say the same for the furniture... 
When I grew older I discovered that epic stories didn't just happen in fantasy worlds, they did happen for real in times long ago. As a teenager history was my hobby, now as an adult I want to make it my profession.  
I am currently a student at the University of Antwerp following a Bachelor in History and although I like doing research I do want to bring the stories, that are behind the sources, alive. 
When I realised that I had become too old to fantasise in the living room I kept my travels reserved for the nights. Every time when I go to bed I continue where I've left my story. I must have written 50 books in my mind by now, but lost summer I finally decided to put one on paper and hope to do this a lot more often. 
It is up to you, good readers, to decide if I am to become a historian or a novelist (or both).
