          I just won the grand prize of the ABK’s Horror Nights Competition 2025!
          
          This is honestly my first time winning a writing challenge, and I couldn’t contain my overflowing excitement! The moment I saw the post about this challenge, I knew I had to join. And whether I win or lose, I will share my creative process behind this success.
          
          When I saw the challenge and read the prompts, “POV of a haunted house welcoming its new owners” caught my attention. I instantly had an idea of how the story would go!
          
          Since the POV would be about the house, I thought of making it different from my other characters. I used a poetic way of narrating the story from the point of view of an evil house (this is inspired by my long-drafted works—yes, this is not the first time I used this technique in writing).
          
          The first version of the story was different from this one. The house was supposed to be the soul of a mother who was murdered years ago and clung to the house to protect the next homeowners from the evil lurking in the corners of the house. The house was supposed to save the family by sacrificing itself and freeing the mother’s soul at the same time.
          
          I shared the first drafts with my writing besties, Jeyson Lamban and Lovinggrey, for initial reading, and they both agreed that the whole saving act is not exactly my voice and does not fit the criteria of the contest. That made me rethink the story and consider changing it.
          
          And then it came to my mind… “What if the house is purely evil?”
          
          And “Bagong Bahay, Bagong Bangkay” was born.
          
          With this, I would like to thank my family and Von for always supporting my writing journey.

Hello, guys! I am currently editing the first three pages of Celtina. I am now thinking of posting the first three pages tomorrow night, then the rest will be updated on a schedule. 
          
          I am excited!

Story Update: Hi guys! For my upcoming story, “Celtina” of Masasayang Bayan, I am now 70% done with my target. I’m already at the climax, just waiting for the rush and the right moment to deliver the highlight of the story and finally wrap things up.
          
          For now, here are the things you need to know about the story:
          
          1. If Desoro (Chapter 2) featured a pocket universe and concepts of space or teleportation, Celtina will instead explore elements of time.
          
          2. Just like the other Masasayang Bayan stories (Arkanka and Desoro), it will only be 10 pages long—quick and easy to read!
          
          3. The entire story happens in just one night. But that night is full of terror!
          
          4. It will be even more interesting.
          
          5. The plot revolves around only one group.
          
          I’m planning to publish the story on Wattpad soon after I finish it. I’ll drop everything right after.
