I do, usually, write quite a lot in my roleplays, especially at the start. I also roleplay as if I'm writing a story, so I do not use * or - for descriptions or actions. I also don't use text talk whilst reoleplaying (although I don't do that anyway).

Also, I'd really appreciate it if you could give me constructive criticism. I always love to get better at writing!

Because I've been roleplaying a lot, some things just slip into my writing.
For example, I will write speech "like this", thoughts 'like this' and then descriptions normally.

Oh and, just thought I should mention that I'm from England. So, most of my book will be set in England probably (if not in another world) and my characters will be English. You might not really care, but meh...
