The loud sound of the town crier's bell echoed in the village market that hot afternoon and every body paid attention to what he had to say.
"People of Nkide!.." The town crier started, his voice firm and loud, then he hit on his bell again.
"People of Nkide!" He said again. "His royal highness, prince Ejike Lotana Obi, is coming back from obodo-yibo (abroad) in three days time." He announced and every villagers present looked shocked.
"Did he just say what I think I heard him said?" a woman in the village market asked her customer who looked just as shocked as her.
"Which of the prince Ejike is he talking about?"
