Just as an alert. Despite my trepidations on my last post, I haven't quit writing here or anything! I haven't updated on RR either. Between holiday hours at work and the release of a couple of games (including Cyberpunk 2077 next month), I just needed a break because I was super excited to actually get this started that I pushed pretty hard the first couple of weeks of this story. So we all need the occasional break. I will continue to update here (until I feel otherwise), but for now I just needed a break!

I am heavily considering removing the story from Wattpad and focusing on Royal Road and other sites for visibility purposes. I was on Wattpad for a week longer than RR, but still I only have 8 followers and 35 views on my content.

In comparison, on RR I have around 26 followers and around 900 views, with a lot more user engagement. Forums, comments, ratings, and even a review. All things I am just not getting here. Maybe Wattpad's metrics are broken, maybe that 35 is some kind of hard-stop, perhaps only counting unique views? Either way, it's clear that I'm just not visible here and I don't want to keep updating. I write for myself, but I still need some feedback so that I can improve. I've spent a lot of years in my head and getting my stories actually down and visible to others is still very important to me.

RR seems pretty cool and I'd recommend my 8 readers to make an account and follow me there as well.

@ArielThein Fair play. I can hold out a bit longer since I'm still new to putting my work on the internet. May not last, though.

@ZydrateAcademy I think you should keep writing on Wattpad. I only have 8 followers, and it took a LOT of time to reach 200 reads. There are people that are willing to give you feedback and appreciate your story, and patience will get you where you want, eventually. If you want to make yourself more visible, you could join book clubs, though that's optional. I don't join any book clubs and it's going okay. Although you may have more reads and followers on Royal Road, there are people here on Wattpad that are ready to love your story. It's just my opinion, though.
