I understand that you feel this and at the end of the day they are your books and it’s your choice on what you wanna do with them, but all and all the writing is so good, especially impure I love that book so much and iv re read it so many times simply because I love the writing, much love❤️

Hi Julie. You should be proud of what you have written even though you no longer like those tropes, I get it 100%, but it shows how you have grown over the years. From the first time I read one of your books, I was like woah and then I read another, then another, and I could see the improvements that you made. Even if you don't like them, they have helped shape your writing for the future! Try not to think about it is so hard, I can tell by the way you communicate with us, that you'd never be one to support anything of the sort in real life. You're genuinely a good person. Give yourself some grace.

Love you Julie, can’t wait to see you succeed!

i have this very feminine urge to just delete all the books i’ve written before darkest hours and rid my digital footprint of those. i’m simultaneously very happy with everything i have achieved and am so honored people love my writing and those books, but it’s just difficult to have something published on my page that i don’t stand behind.

i don’t like those tropes anymore and it is not something i connect with nor support. i understand why the younger version of me wrote those and i respect her for that, but the me of today is just so unhappy with those books and they’re awfully written and represent the wrong things.

i’m too unmotivated to rewrite them whatsoever and i have too many ideas for future books to occupy myself with turning to my older work.

just wanted to get this off my chest. i won’t delete them bc i don’t wanna die.

you’re such a wonderful writer and I truly enjoy your stories! Tantalized is my favourite and it’s also the first story I read of yours! I absolutely love those books but completely respect your current take on them as the creator behind them. You’re a brilliant writer and I love supporting you❤️

even if the tropes aren't exactly things we support irl, the writing is still captivating and not worth throwing away!

@__julieee Hey girl, I’ve been reading your books ever since you published Mercy five years ago, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. Your writing has grown so much over the years, and you should be really proud of everything you’ve achieved. I understand your concerns about the messages in your older books — I don’t stand behind those themes either — but they shaped you and your writing, and they also shaped me. I was fourteen when I read Mercy, and it brought up so many emotions. Even now, rereading your older books gives me this warm, nostalgic feeling after a long day. I’ve learned a lot from them, especially as my perspective changed while growing up. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us.

            You’re a great writer, Jules!
            Much love
