          Hi, I like that (Y/N) didn't blindly follow Shoko's friends' lead (not to mention the other students and teachers at her school) who showered her with excessive attention. Her ladylike demeanor and overflowing beauty (plus her lack of speaking skills) earned her many admirers without much effort. (Y/N) sees teenage beauty as naturally striking; it depends on whether they possess a unique and distinctive beauty and use it correctly to attract attention. Most importantly, she feels their excessive attention is more like invading her personal space than a violation of her privacy. She doesn't see attention as bad; in fact, it feels like they're forcing it on her without asking for her consent. She wants a gradual approach to her friendships, and she wants RESPECT.
          
          It's no wonder that Shosuke likes her so much. (Y/N) treats him like a normal person, asks him about his well-being, shows him personal respect, and doesn't pester him. She didn't act stunned by him like his classmates who would practically kneel and try to win him over with excessive flattery because of his irresistible handsomeness (though she sometimes acts dramatic or overly cute because she loves food or cute things; he tolerates her personality because he wants her to be cheerful). She sees this as normal because she's probably seen many handsome men on social media or through people around her. Maybe there are even men more handsome than Shosuke, so she's used to it. She believes everyone has their own unique beauty and handsomeness; everyone is beautiful or handsome in their own way. She handles herself intelligently, is kind, mature, not overly arrogant, and humble. Her personality (plus her coolness) combined with her caring, older sisterly nature easily won his heart, even though she wasn't aware of it.

I think Hinako does possess beauty according to the ideal beauty standard. Perhaps her features are a mix of mixed ethnicity, and when Shosuke first saw her, he probably hadn't seen a woman with a face that deviated from the ideal Japanese beauty, which is why he fell in love.  (You might wonder why I wrote that she's mixed race. It's because, based on her observations of her younger sister, Zeniko, who has blonde hair, it's speculated that her family has European ancestry, likely meaning the father of her two daughters is European.)
            
            Think that her unique beauty, typical of Japanese girls, might have led her to experience similar things to Shoko – excessive attention from classmates, even stalkers. She seemed to disagree with and dislike this, so she strongly reprimanded them, telling them to know their limits and respect her. Luckily for her, no one bothered or pampered her excessively; instead, they respected her or feared her from then on. But she still faced bullying because of her beauty? Her friendship with Shoko, combined with her somewhat naive or forgetful nature (though she's actually very intelligent), might have contributed to her depression, panic attacks, and loneliness.
