 :  it doesn't recall the memories of the original sujin  ,  only the feeling he has towards his brother.  the feelings are strong enough to break him out of the mindless cycle it had been in.
            
             :  claims to have amnesia.  it would be clear to anyone else that he's not quite  ..  natural  ,  but his brother is young enough to not notice much past his brother being back.
            
             :  he's extremely protective of his brother.  it's rare he'll let you get close enough to even see him.
            
             :  it's voice sounds wrong.  it doesn't sound normal  —  he tells his brother that he got injured.
            
             :  has klled its own kind in order to keep his brother safe.  feels little remorse about it.
            
             :  tries to avoid humans as much as possible.  it's hard to reason with them  —  to convince them that it only wants to "take care of a small human."
            
             :  it can experience emotions  ,  but usually it's nothing good if his brother isn't around.

SUJIN was a volunteer for project   '  ECHOPOINT  '   ,  having been one of many who signed a contract without truly knowing what they were getting into.
            
            they had told him he would be paid a large sum if he participated in the trials.  he needed the money in order to make a life for him and his brother.  they had been in foster care since his brother was just a baby  —  he had basically raised him on his own.  then he aged out  —  no longer brought in the cash their foster parents wanted.  he didn't have the means to take care of himself let alone another person.  this money would let him change their lives.
            
            sujin didn't make it long enough to achieve that dream.
            
            what remains is an entity that has completely discarded the original.  the true sujin is no longer alive  —  he lasted a good few months  ,  struggling to live in order to see the boy he promised he would get back to.
            
            now there is only an alternate of himself.  it doesn't remember the life it had before  —  only fleeting feelings it has no way to put a name to.  it was without humanity for awhile  ,  moving forward without really knowing where it was going.
            
            then it arrived at a home  —  a place that prodded at its mind and made its chest feel funny.  it stared at the door  —  as if waiting for something to come out and greet it.
            
            when it walked inside  ,  the place was quiet  ..  but it knew it was not unoccupied.  they walked to a room at the far end of the hall  ,  leaned down to peek under the bed  ..  only to have a small child stare back at it.  a child that laid eyes on it for only a moment before scrambling out from under the bed to  ..  hug him?
            
            then those feelings returned.  intense  ,  warm  ,  foreign.  he hugged back without truly knowing what he was doing.
            
            this little thing was his.  he didn't know why or how  —  but he knew he needed to protect it. 

AN INVASION  ,  AN APOCALYPSE  ..  it didn't matter what you called it  ,  the world was collapsing.  humans are being replaced by   '  ALTERNATES  '   of themselves  —  the original being erased.  
            
            the government was the start of things.  they were attempting to   PREPARE   in case an invasion were to ever happen.  it was research  —  a precaution to a conflict they knew would happen eventually.  unbeknownst to them  ,  they'd be the ones to unleash horror on to earth.
            
            the things they were researching learned  —  they observed at the same time the humans did.  the government had originally been containing the possession of bodies  —  had been able to pick who would lose rights to their minds.  that didn't last.
