Hey everyone,
I wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't been very active. I've been going through some stuff, and honestly, I haven't been doing much writing. Stress and depression are eating away at me, and right now I'm kind of just in survival mode. I'll be back eventually. Miss you guys though. Hope you're all doing well.
XOXO,
~Aly

Hey everyone,
I'm going to leave Hello, Goodbye up through this week, and then I'm going to remove all but the first 10 chapters. It's published now, so if you're enjoying it, please think about supporting it on Amazon. It's also available via the Barnes and Noble website, as well as Walmart.
I have big news coming as well. Determined to make this a good year for my books. I know I haven't been posting much, but I was feeling very discouraged and uninspired on the story I was working on. It's not gone forever, but I have to put it on hold for a while so I can focus on what's actually inspiring me. I'll share when I finish it, which I'm hoping will be soon. But it's a fantasy romance, so it's a bit different than what I've done before. I'm enjoying it, and I look forward to sharing it.
I hope you all had a happy new year! I'll be back soon, but remember, Hello, Goodbye is about to say goodbye on Wattpad and Inkitt but hello on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart.
XOXO,
~Aly

Exactly one year ago today, I made a New Years resolution. I'd already successfully finished NaNoWriMo for five years in a row, and I wanted to challenge myself. So I set a goal for myself to write 1,000 words a day for the entire year.
I went to two out of town funerals this year. I got a puppy. I moved apartments. I planned a wedding. Got married. Went to Hawaii for my honeymoon. Worked a fulltime job every day and recently started going to the gym. And each and every night, I sat down at this laptop at my desk, on my couch, or in my bed, and I just wrote.
It was a definite challenge, and there were nights where I would just sit in bed and cry because of how tired I was. Several times I wanted to give up, because I was exhausted. But I didn't. I kept on writing. Every night. Through sicknesses, losses, and celebrations, I wrote.
And just now, I wrote my final 1,000 words. I did it, you guys! I wrote over 365,000 words this year. That is the equivalent of 3.5 novels. I finished two novels, got damn close to finishing another, started tweaking one I started last year, and began rewriting something I started writing back in college. It has been one hell of a year, and I am so, so, so proud of myself. I did it.
Now... I'm going to put my laptop down for the rest of the night. And celebrate the New Year with my HUSBAND (still can't believe I get to say that). Hope you all have a safe and happy new year! God bless!

Hey friends.
This is something I've been thinking about for a while. But I'm considering leaving Wattpad. I've been on here for years, and I don't get much feedback anymore. I appreciate the couple of people who do comment when I post, but it's so infrequent that it's discouraging. I'm never going to quit writing, but I feel so utterly invisible here. Yes, we all write because we love it. But I post for feedback, and when I don't get it, it just makes me wonder why I'm here. I'm not trying to be a snot. I just think maybe I need to move on.
Have any of you ever felt this way?

@alysunsanders13 I get it. I've considered this several times, and I don't even write anymore. (I am just revising old works). One thing I did was join book clubs. It's more of a commitment, but if you do want some feedback, you'll get those from the community. I just stopped because I got pretty busy. You can probably try other apps, too? I def miss the times when people are more active.

@alysunsanders13 I understand how you feel, and I empathize with you. We all feel this way at some point while writing, but I believe it must be especially hard for you when your books don't get as much visibility as you'd like, especially on a reader-oriented app like Wattpad. Personally, I believe what helped my books grow quickly was using the appropriate hashtags. It made them appear on lists that mattered and increased my readership. But getting engaged readers is still particularly hard for me. I'd say hang in there, and hopefully, things will change. But I would also understand if you need to take a break to recharge. Study the app and find out what really works. I'd be happy to lend a helping hand!

Just posted a new chapter of Crossing the Line! I know it's been a minute. I had serious writer's block after the wedding and had to go back and fix a few things. But I'm feeling much better about this story, and I hope you enjoy this new chapter!
XOXO,

I'm MARRIED!
After almost a decade of being together, my partner Angus and I finally got hitched! It was a beautiful ceremony on family property with our families and closest friends. And boy did we have fun! Then, after weeks of stressing and planning, we hopped on a plane to Hawaii for our honeymoon. It was an incredible week, but I am so happy to be back home with our daughter, our dog, and our cat.
Now for a brief writing announcement: I am going to pause on Crossing the Line for a little bit. I took a wrong turn somewhere, and I really want to fix it before I continue posting new chapters. However, now that I am no longer planning the biggest event of my life, I will have more time to figure out what went wrong. I hope to be back soon.
As for reading... I have every intention of catching up with my stories here very soon. In fact, I'm looking forward to it. I've missed all my friends so much!
If you're interested in wedding photos, keep your eyes on my Instagram. I'll be sharing them as soon as I'm given the all clear by the photographer!
Glad to be back, my loves!
XOXO,
~Aly

After what feels like forever, I finally finished A Taste of Cinnamon: Vale's Story! The epilogue has just been posted. It feels so weird saying goodbye to these characters. I'll miss them. But it's time to focus solely on Ian and Anna now. I'll be back soon with a Behind the Scenes. Stay safe and healthy until then, my dears!
XOXO,
~Aly
