Another thing — and honestly, the most important reason why I became even more attached to this story — is that the main character doesn’t enjoy this wave of obsession directed at her. She doesn’t welcome it at all, and I find that so realistic.
In so many other fanfictions and stories I’ve read, the character who is obsessively loved either isn’t aware that the behavior is toxic, or doesn’t realize how unhealthy it is, and sometimes even seems to enjoy it. And I’ve always found that unrealistic, because in real life, no one would genuinely appreciate that kind of obsessive, possessive outpouring of love.
What makes your story so special is that the main character is aware of it — she understands what’s happening — and that’s what makes it so good.
