How many book series are out there that I’ll never get to read because the author gave up on their dream. I bet my favorite book in the world was never even published.
Don’t let that be your story.
If you feel like giving up on writing, do yourself a favor and take a step back. Forget about publishing for a minute and write a story for yourself. Write a story that no one else may ever read, but that you love. Write what makes you happy, because that’s what writing is about.

Remember that being a writer isn’t about being perfect. It’s about having a story you want to tell the world, and bringing that dream to life. Stop being critical of yourself for not being perfect, and be proud that you’re actually writing your story.
When writing fiction you learn to only put in things and characters that are going to progress your story. There is something to be learned about that approach in real life.
The two dangers of writing:
1. Someone will read it.
2. No one will read it.
