I started my working life as a cook in a fast food restaurant, later making my way up to management. Then changing jobs and careers to become a caregiver for dual diagnosis of mental health issues and developmentally disabled. I loved the job, but it took a mental toll over time and I moved on. Also, I moved literally to Joliet IL where I worked in group homes before going to culinary school and then went to work as a chef at a nursing home. I began to develop health problems and transitioned to driving for ride shares, but eventually I couldn't even do that. I've always had a creative outlet of some form, and have written many short stories and poems for my personal enjoyment. As I cannot work due to illness, I need something to do, so I'm writing. With luck, this may be my next career.
