Was reading an Ao3 fanfic and suddenly got the idea for an Umamusume fic where trainers were basically manservants for the uma's who are all psychopaths and it would have a very melodramatic Yakuza style plot of overthrowing the 5 Uma's of Tracen Academy and it would end with the MC and Ofevre's Trainer (because Ofevre is the main villain) squaring off in a fistfight to duel for their Uma's honor.
So for those of you who play Nikke, what are your thoughts on the Surface Exploration beta?
I'll be the first to admit that I'm just not a big RTS guy in the first place, but this has got to be the most boring RTS I've ever tried. You move so fucking slowly, all the battles take way too long, and it takes way too long for squads to heal. The time investment is not proportional to the rewards you get from it. I guess you can just swap Nikkes for fresh ones, but that's annoying and the gameplay isn't compelling enough to make me want to spend more than half an hour on it which for an RTS is HORRIBLE. RTS are meant to eat away time, not chip away at slowly. If Shift Up commits to the hexacode stuff being another nikke upgrade system outside of surface exploration, I genuinely cannot see myself bothering with it anyway.
I'm also not interested in the dumb fucking building upgrades. Literally just Clash of Clans except you can't choose where anything goes.
TLDR: I hate it.
@CaveSquirrel The healing is especially bad. Either wait 19 hours for individual heals, or 6 hours for a squad heal. Both are so long it just makes more sense to squad heal and make more progress tommorow
@averageidiot132 same here. I hate how grindy it gets and how I need to wait all the time just to have my Nikke recover.
