@before11nights I couldn’t agree more with everything you said!
This might contain spoilers if you haven’t seen the finale yet, but your thoughts on Theo are so true. There were no serious or genuine conversations between them—it was always just him declaring his love, along with all the banter and teasing.
That ‘first love’ pick-up line when Sian was rejecting him was so… I don’t even know what to say. It just felt so manufactured. I mean, we had Jongwoo in Season 2, and he was also only interested in Seulki, but at least his feelings felt genuine. Even though there might have been some sincerity in Theo’s approach, it still felt too calculated.
What you said about Dongho is spot on as well. He was initially interested in Arin, then briefly turned to Youjin because Arin didn’t reciprocate. Then, after the campfire moment where Arin redeemed herself a bit, Dongho was still cautious—understandably so, since their first match up didn’t really work out. Then came the whole Youjin fiasco at the campfire, followed by the paradise date with the game-changer and everything that unfolded from there.
Also, whenever the hosts said that Dongho liked Haelin, I was always like…??? Flustered and fluttered are two completely different things. With Haelin, he always seemed flustered because she came on too strong, and like I said earlier it felt like he just didn’t know how to respond—so he’d just smile. Also, teasing can only take a relationship so far before it becomes exhausting. Their dynamic felt more like a mature person with someone immature—not just because of Haelin’s age, but because of the way she carried herself. Arin, despite being only two years older than haelin, showed a level of maturity while still having playful, sassy moments. It was well-balanced, never overwhelming, and she openly shared her thoughts and worries, which prevented miscommunication or misunderstandings.
