at least for self - defense, if nothing else, — i want to make sure you'll be safe — that.. won't exactly happen if you keep holding the whip at that angle.

it's supposed to go a little more like.. /this/, that way you can accurately reach your target, and — [ proximity, more or less, has not been much of a complication for seojun when it came to the subject of training, with weapons or without. whether it was sparring sessions with ae ra and tommy—the latter of whom was still getting into the swing of things— or the occasional, formal request that he assist the newly-christened, haughty, rookie demon slayers who thought they knew everything in the playbook (they didn't), even if it meant taking on assignments far too dangerous and far too complex for their rank. (they'd certainly try.) but this? this was a little bit different. it's not so much unfamiliar territory as it is an idly-imagined scenario he never thought would turn to reality. both of them, posing as knights in shining armor, clad in their fluffy pajamas, stood in their living room with the lights low and the whip of alchemy tucked firmly ( he hopes ) enough in his wife's grasp that it won't slip from her hands. there's one arm positioned steady at jugyeong's waist, his other hand gently readjusting the way her fingers clutch the handle. and maybe he would have been perfectly fine, had he not lost focus, rapt attention re-directed to jugyeong and her pretty brown eyes, his heart nearly thumping out of his chest and clogging his airways instead. his attempts at playing off the warmth rushing to his cheeks are futile, he knows — still opting to clear his throat if only to cut the next minute or so he knows he would've spent staring at her, every word of admiration he wants to speak stuck in his throat like taffy. ] and you can avoid hitting yourself in the face. ( .. ) of course, you don't /really/ have to worry about that for now — i've got you.
