⠀ ⠀ devon frowns,  head turning to follow the older fox as he circles her.  she feels almost like prey,  or like she’s back with her ballet instructor.  she clears her throat,  hand going to fiddle with a fluffy ear.  “  i  —  um,  no.  i can’t.  ”
            ⠀ ⠀ she huffs a noise of annoyance,  crossing her arm across her chest.   under her breath,  she reluctantly mutters,  “  of course i tried that  already.  i just woke up with them  !  i didn’t think the ears or tail would actually be apart of this  !  help meee,  you asshole  !  ”

            renelm barely hid his laugh behind his pursed lips. it was adorable, to say the least. her ears were nothing compared to his, if only he could turn to his fox at will. but a fox was a fox, and he acknowledged her as one. with his hands at his sides, for once with no weapon hilt in his grip, he strode toward her with ease, circling her only for his own entertainment, pretending to take her concerns seriously.
            
            “you can’t make them go away, you say?” he asked, his tone firm, assessing. “why didn’t you grow a tail along with the ears? curious, isn’t it. try closing your eyes tight and holding your breath. perhaps your ears will pop away.”
