In the final chapter of this novel, Pilar comes to her wedding dressed in black! Juan does not notice Pilar's grief because he's looking forward to the joys of married life.

Chapter 43: "I will die for you," Pilar tells her mother.  Although every cell in her body is nauseated, she agrees to marry the obnoxious Juan.

In Chapter 40, Enough of your lies, Pilar rebukes Alberto and tells him to be true to Julia, his wife.

          I apologize for being absent for more than a month. Laptop problems and a hectic Christmas season with so many extended family activities kept me away from Mag-inang Mahirap. I'm back!
