@Concienta-Una Of course. With consistently what I usually do is plan ahead. Have different points for major events preplanned, possibly in written in a book, a word doc, or just in your head, and build from there. Just let things kind of fall into place because the better you design your characters the more they fall into place.
With keeping characters consistent, don't worry about them to much if they start to deviate from how they started as, as long as they have a reason to be different. That's what creates character growth.
To keep your stories interesting, don't worry to much about what other people think. It's your story, your imagination. Everyone does it different, sprinkling in bits of humour, or Easter eggs, or just leaving readers guessing. The worst thing you can do is be predictable, and with me, I keep tons of different outcomes and ways my stories can go. The chapters I write might just be one of over ten I could of written.
My final advice is, just do what feels right. Everyone has their own style, and mine may not work for you. Find your rhythm, maybe listen to some music when thinking of ideas, let your thoughts and feelings give you ideas. But like I said, everyone is different, this is just how I do things and what works for me.
Best of luck with any of your story making endeavours! :)
