I'm really interested in Literary Fiction and would love to find writers who write these kinds of stories. :-)
I'm 58, and just because of the years passing, I've had some crazy experiences, especially over the last three years. In 2010-11, I taught English in Korea. From 2011-13, I lived and worked (teaching again) in the Sultanate of Oman. I am fascinated by the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe ~ anywhere but home in Virginia! I'm filled with wanderlust. Over these last three years, I've been to 16 countries, including all over Oman & Korea, UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, China, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Ethiopia, India and Nepal. I've also traveled to the European countries: Greece, Spain & Portugal, England and France. I've written lots about these places already in a number of blogs I have, all of which can be accessed through my website above.
I've finished the first draft and first revision of a novel about four characters and their struggles during the sniper attacks in Washington in 2002, leading up to the 2003 Iraq war. I actually wrote the first draft of this during that time period, and the novel's been sitting on my computer for over ten years! I guess it's been so long now, you can call it historical fiction!
I also have lots of ideas for stories about my life abroad over the last three years, and my travels. I'm trying to decide whether to make these stories into fiction or memoir. Time will tell. First, I need to finish this novel. :-)
