(don’t mind me; I’m just gonna ramble because if I don’t put this into words, I might actually scream)
It was never supposed to end like this. It sometimes felt like oxygen…and you don’t expect oxygen to leave your lungs and not come back. You don’t prepare for that kind of absence. And the silence that followed? It’s been louder than anything I’ve ever known. This thing… whatever it was, was the one constant that made everything else tolerable. Now, I’m standing here holding nothing, trying to fathom how something that kept me alive could disappear without a thought for what it would do to me.
