The writer assumes in the reader an intelligence equal to her own, and from there they take off together into the very different world of the imagination.- Eudora Welty

Have you ever had writing dreams? I once dreamed that I was imprisoned in some kind of reformatory school, and all I wanted to do was get away and write. I finally broke free and caught a train. I pulled out my pad and started to write. And what came out was Eudora Welty stories. I couldn't write anything original. More a writing nightmare, really.

Another one: Mark Twain was leading me up a path that wound around a mountain of sand. At each landing, there was an author's party. We'd stop, have a glass of champagne and socialize, and then continue on up the path. Unfortunately, I woke up before we reached the top of the mountain.

I'm a storyteller. I don't like writing non-fiction, memoirs, emails or profiles. My LinkedIn account has nothing in it. Unanswered invitations pile up like junk mail.

I assume you're smart. I assume you're perceptive. Come join me as we embark on a journey to the very different world of the imagination.
