one of my pet peeves is when people cast poc for their fics and then don’t acknowledge that they’re from a certain background. read up on the culture as you would any other!! using black ocs, for example, it doesn’t hurt to incorporate something as simple as bonnets into the fic. if you do it for diversity i feel like it’s the bare minimum to see it all the way through
and it’s actually so fun and interesting to research and incorporate different cultures!!
