          Excerpt:I looked into her eyes and saw the anger there—and the fear. “What are you saying?” 
          
          “You know I shot that man.” My voice was calm, without a waver, and Talia crossed her arms over her chest at the sound of it.
          
          “It was self-defense,” she argued. “You didn’t have a choice.”
          
          “There’s always a choice!” I didn’t realize that I was shouting a foot away from her face until she staggered back a few steps. “There’s always a choice,” I repeated in a whisper.

          Summary: Stacey Johnson, thought lowly of human contact and soon it became known that she feared being touched. This anxiety bubbled below the surface of an ordinary exterior. No-one glanced twice at her, that was until Ashton came along. Perhaps it was fate that the two meet because one way or another they each have reasons to save each other and most importantly, themselves.

Hey, I saw your advertisement for critiques! I give critiques myself, but one can never really see what could be better about their own story. I am tough and very open to criticism, so don't worry about hurting my feelings. the first chapter is only three pages. The story is called Parallel. It's about a young college student who accidentally discovers he can travel between parallel universes. Here's the link to the first chapter.
