Yes, your work still belongs to you to do as you wish with it after you submit. You still have all of the rights as the author.

@heatherlovatt I was talking to an editor and she was confusing me about agents and other things. I misunderstood what she was saying about magazines but I've got it all now.

I think that while a lot of adult literary magazines are free, none, or very few at least, of the teen ones are.

If you don't make it into the magazine, you could a) submit something else, b) edit it and resubmit it, c) ask someone on wattpad to edit it for you and then resubmit it, or d) all three!
