Well I didn’t manage to write on the current stories this summer. I can’t think about that as if the words didn’t come I can’t force them.
What I have started is a new series of short stories. It will be interesting if keeping it short works. I know it doesn’t make it easier, it I hope I can avoid the feeling of failure when I don’t write anything.

Glad you took the plunge and decided to start writing. You have a nice style to your work. Keep going- Gray :)

@GrayLivingstone thank you. I have had a break and hope to start again in July. The writing is for me. However, posting it here feels like more. Getting feedback is lovely and helps me want to continue. So thank you.

What newer authors do you suggest for MTF stories? There just a couple of authors I am following who are active, and the new ones I have found only write very short stories that don't develop any characters.
I noticed your comments on Sabrina and couple of other authors I follow, and wondered whether you have any suggestions.

@designsforthetimes I don't think you will find any new authors in my lists. Most have been around at least 3 years. Most have quit publishing any new volumes or finished their existing works. I have ended up spending most of my time on Scribblehub. There are some good writers there, but they tend to follow different formulas. I haven't found anything like Sabrina or other favorite authors there. Mer girl is there, but she has quit publishing on either site.

@BothellRoyal you seem to have most of the best ones. In fact I can’t see any gaps. Maybe I can spot some news writers in your list.

I had a question about my story ‘A life’ some time ago about it continuing in a real world way or following Science fiction. The time has come for the twist to really begin. I will be writing this soon. If anyone has any final thoughts about the direction let me know. As it is going to change the story and develop it in a way that I hope will work well.

I have been making corrections to A life and added a little more. This includes what is possibly the worst book cover on here. I even managed to,put the wrong title for my own book . I hope some people find my stories. I don’t imagine finishing anytime soon as my life is in a very messy phase, but I know finding time to escape and write helps me. I have many ideas for the stories and hope to translate the electron sparks into words. More on that if you are reading the stories. It is fascinating to work through how to tell a story and leave a mystery and interest to draw the reader in. I have avoided the how to write guides here so far as I want my story to be a little different and I feel that I would end up making it too generic, which is probably what will happen by not reading the guides. Oh well. I am rambling now. Happy New Year, two years here now and two stories on the go.

I have been struggling recently so have not written or published updates for sometime. I will, I hope that in a few weeks I can sit down and let the ideas flow again. I would love to hear the thoughts about the stories or the writing. I have a vision and plan but the journey through the plan just flows when I write. I re-read and edit often before publishing. So I hope my intention to produce an interesting story works. Is the focus on the main character too much? Should I develop more characters? Do the dialogue work? That felt like a risk when I wrote it but helped to give a literal voice to the characters thoughts. Am I hiding the characters thoughts too much or not enough? There is a significant part to Jo’s life that I thought I had hinted at, but am not so sure now in the first chapter. I don’t want to waffle, so if you read this and feel that you want to comment please do it will really encourage me to get back to writing. Thanks for reading.

I have finally begun to reach a stage where I can publish updates to my stories.
Jo’s story has two option coming up. Firstly stick to a real world and tell the story. Or to enter a sci-if world of radiation and change. It seems a little cliched, but who am I to stop that being a possibility, it works for others. Happy to listen to comments on this.

A life has reached the point of decision. Let’s just see where it goes next.

@designsforthetimes thé sci-fi way is risked, but thé real world would be shy or boring. Not easy

So I have two stories on the go. If anyone to give feedback feel free. It is just amazing that people have been reading them.

Just realised I have been on the site for a year now. What a year. Physical and mental health have been challenging and family life is even worse. I returned to work, and am surviving some how. Reading stories on here got me through and really helped.
I did read a few stories that shook me to the core, easier to do given my fragility. So the content warning have been so important for me.
If anyone has recommendations for new stories coming online that involve love and caring with romance. With an absence of the rough and tumble of real life I would to hear about them. Oh and if you are reading this you probably know that gxg is my only interest.
