            unblinking green eyes narrow onto the spirit. árvore is as silent, as motionless as the trees towering in every possible direction for a long moment. for him to make it / this far / thinking the rainforest to be empty shouldn't have been rightfully possible — or perhaps it was, nowadays..?
            
            ' ... / well. / ' perhaps he should be offended. & perhaps, some centuries ago, he would have been. ' i'm afraid not. '

kasai’s  anger  held  a  sacred  reputation.  it  was  either  feared  or  dismissed,  but  seen  as  amusing?  rarely  happened.  it  was  seen  as  amusing  (his  hotheaded  tendencies  that  made  him  so  cruel),  until  kasai  made  them  scream  into  smoke.  but  he  only  scowls  at  them,  lips  pursed.
            
            “how  was  i  supposed  to  know?”  is  all  he  scoffs  sullenly,  head  tilted  back  as  eyes  flare  up  in  deepened  irritation.  “i’m  here  because  i  thought  this  place  was  empty.”  is  his  only  poor  explanation,  as  sullen  as  his  tone  and  expression  as  he  all  but  sulks,  arms  folded  neatly  and  chin  raised  in  defiance.

            for all of árvore's prized patience, there is most certainly a faint amusement at kasai's oh-so-clear anger. the rainforest has seen enough fires in its lifetime, & the spirit reflects every one of them back, clearer than before. perhaps a younger forest spirit would have been afraid ( & perhaps some fear would do árvore good even today ) & yet he has never been, and certainly is not / now. /
            
            ' hm. ' eyes shift towards the treetops once again, nearly appearing bored in the conversation altogether. ' why wouldn't i be? this / is / my forest, after all. '
            
            there's a long sigh as árvore's gaze makes its way back to kasai. ' oh — why are / you / here, then..? '
